RIGHT TO INFORMATION ACT

RIGHT TO INFORMATION ACT, 2005 IS USEFUL FOR ALL PERSONS WHO WANT TO GET ANY INFORMATION FROM ANY GOVERNMENT DEPARTMENT , CORPORATION ,  LOCAL BODY , GOVERNMENT AIDED SOCIAL ORGANISATION  AND OTHERS.

INFORMATIONS CAN BE OBTAINED FROM ANY DEPARTMENT  BY APPLYING WITH REQUISITE  FEE OF RUPEE 10 /- THROUGH DEMAND DRAFT, INDIAN POSTAL ORDER OR CASH.

CONCERN DEPARTMENT IS BOUND TO GIVE THE INFORMATIONS WITHIN THIRTY DAYS. IF APPLICANT CAN NOT GET THE INFORMATIONS OR HE GETS WRONG OR INCOMPLETE INFORMATION,  HE MAY FILE AN APPEAL TO THE APPELLATE AUTHORITY OF THE DEPARTMENT WITHIN THIRTY DAYS. IN CASE OF URGENT MATTER THE TIME LIMIT OF INFORMATION IS 48 HOURS.

IF THE INFORMATIONS NOT RECEIVED BY THE APPLICANT  THEN HE  MAY FILE A COMPLAINT TO THE STATE INFORMATION COMMISSION OF HIS STATE IN CASE OF STATE GOVERNMENT MATTER. IN CASE OF CENTRAL GOVERNMENT MATTER, COMPLAINT MAY FILE BEFORE NATIONAL INFORMATION COMMISSION, NEW DELHI.

THE PUBLIC INFORMATION OFFICER MAY BE PUNISHED BY THE INFORMATION COMMISSION IF HE IS FOUND GUILTY. THE AMOUNT OF FINE MAY EXTEND TWO HUNDRED FIFTY RUPEES PER DAY TO TOTAL AMOUNT RS. 25000/-  --- PRAMOD KUMAR AGRAWAL
